David Street Station is seeking a full-time Event & Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team!
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, David Street Station is dedicated to creating vibrant community experiences through events, partnerships, and programming that bring people together. We're looking for someone who is passionate about community, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is excited to help tell our story through events, marketing, and social media.
Position Overview
The Event & Community Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in bringing the David Street Station mission to life. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating community events, creating engaging social media content, promoting programs and events, and building meaningful relationships with community members, sponsors, volunteers, and local businesses.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute community events throughout the year
- Manage event logistics, vendor communication, volunteer coordination, and event setup
- Lead the physical setup and teardown of events, including moving tents, barricades, tables, signage, and other event equipment
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that includes the promotion of events, programs and fundraising initiatives through traditional media, digital media, social media and printed materials
- Build and maintain positive relationships with sponsors, community partners, volunteers, and guests
- Represent David Street Station in a professional, welcoming, and enthusiastic manner
- Support the day-to-day operations of the organization as needed

- A strong communicator with excellent people skills including verbal and written communication
- A collaborative team player
- Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Passionate about serving the community
- Experienced in event coordination (preferred but not required)
Physical & Schedule Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable performing physical work, including setting up and tearing down events
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during events
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during the busy summer event season and some weekends in the winter
Benefits
- Full-time position
- Annual salary: $40,000–$45,000, depending on experience
- Health and dental insurance
- Paid Time Off (PTO starts at 80 hours annually)
