About Your Role
You will work to support programs, campaigns and activities that elevate the Wyoming Outdoor Council’s issues throughout Wyoming communities. Working under the Organizing Director, you help implement campaigns to support programmatic issues, with an emphasis on grassroots organizing, volunteer engagement, and working with organizational partners and the general public. Working closely with the Outdoor Council’s program and communications staff, you will be responsible for outreach with the public, including coordination of events logistics and promotion, and engaging Wyoming Outdoor Council supporters with agency processes, projects or other events. In addition to serving a specific geographic region of Wyoming, you’ll have the opportunity to work with programmatic staff on our priorities across the state.

About You
While we do not expect any one candidate to possess all of these qualifications, the ideal candidate will possess many of the following professional and personal skills and qualities.
You love working on a collaborative team – you are organized and are comfortable communicating with a variety of people, organizations, and entities. You have demonstrated experience in grassroots organizing and successful community engagement. You are familiar with conservation issues in Wyoming and comfortable with conducting outreach to members and supporters, as well as other conservation organizations, and cross-sector community partners. You like meeting new people and interacting with the public, and are a great communicator in both formal and informal settings. You are eager to build lasting relationships with WOC supporters and people across the State of Wyoming.
You are committed to contributing to the Outdoor Council’s equity and belonging work to ensure the organization is a welcoming place for all staff, board, volunteers, community members, and organizational partners. You have experience and/or are committed to building relationships and working with sovereign nations and underserved and disadvantaged communities who have historically been underrepresented in conservation efforts.
You love Wyoming and enjoy traveling the state to attend meetings and hold events with members and supporters. You like working flexible hours. You are experienced working on Apple devices and the standard suite of office tools and technologies. You are comfortable using Zoom, but also aware of its limitations.
You have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
