Transportation Program Manager
Converse County Aging Services (Senior Center) – Douglas & Glenrock, Wyoming
Converse County Aging Services is seeking a motivated, organized, and people-focused Transportation Program Manager to lead and strengthen transportation services for older adults across Douglas and Glenrock. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient transportation while supporting a positive team environment and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.
Position Summary
The Transportation Program Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the county-wide senior transportation program. This includes staff supervision, scheduling, data tracking, training coordination, vehicle oversight, and grant compliance. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high service standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily transportation operations for both Douglas and Glenrock senior centers
- Supervise, support, and evaluate drivers and transportation staff
- Develop and manage schedules, routes, and vehicle utilization
- Track and maintain employee training, certifications, and compliance records
- Collect, analyze, and report program data, including ridership, mileage, and performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including WYDOT grant requirements
- Assist with grant reporting, documentation, and audits
- Maintain accurate and organized program records
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance, inspections, and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with staff, clients, community partners, and leadership
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery
- Support coordination with rehabilitation, mobility, or related service providers (preferred)
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong organizational, data management, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office or similar software
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in transportation services, logistics, or fleet management
- Previous experience as a transportation driver
- Experience working with older adults or in human services
- Familiarity with grant-funded programs, especially WYDOT
- Knowledge of rural transportation systems or public transit operations
- Experience coordinating staff training and compliance tracking
- Background in rehabilitation, mobility services, or related programs
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25–40 pounds occasionally
- Ability to enter and exit vehicles and inspect equipment as needed
- Manual dexterity to operate computers, phones, and office equipment
- Ability to travel between Douglas and Glenrock locations as required
Work Environment
- Combination of office and field-based work
- Regular interaction with staff, clients, and the public
- May require occasional early morning, evening, or schedule adjustments based on program needs
Required Certifications and Legal Requirements
- Valid Wyoming driver’s license
- Acceptable driving record in accordance with agency and insurance standards
- Successful completion of background check
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening (if required by policy or funding source)
- Ability to meet all WYDOT and applicable federal/state transportation program requirements
- First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe)
