Community Engagement Specialist

The Community Engagement Specialist (CES) advances WCADVSA’s mission by strengthening partnerships, public engagement, program accessibility, and community capacity across Wyoming. The CES collaborates with organizations serving underserved and culturally specific populations, including the elderly, tribal communities, LGBTQIA+, Latina/Hispanic, people with disabilities, and others, to help local programs and partners to build capacity to offer appropriate and accessible services and prevention initiatives for culturally specific communities. The CES develops and delivers culturally specific training and technical assistance, supports statewide training initiatives, and creates resources that enhance program readiness for violence prevention and response.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with organizations serving underserved and culturally specific populations.
• Collaborate with advocacy and social change organizations to coordinate violence prevention and response efforts, identify community needs, and connect programs with resources.
• Develop and deliver culturally specific training, mentoring, and TA to advocates and organizational leaders to strengthen survivor access to services such as crisis response, safety planning, and shelter.
• Assist with the planning and implementation of statewide training opportunities.
• Support partners in identifying and implementing strategies to make rural and underserved DVSA services more accessible.
• Develop and report on activities aligned with funding goals and compliance requirements.
• Develop and report on activities tied to current funding sources, ensuring compliance and measurable impact.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in social work, communication, nonprofit management, advocacy, or a related field.
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with underserved and culturally specific populations, including rural and tribal communities.
• Experience in trauma-informed care, culturally responsive programming, or community engagement.
• Experience planning, developing, and implementing training programs or community initiatives.
• Familiarity with Wyoming’s justice and social service systems related to DVSA.
• Experience with grant reporting and compliance.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position reporting to the Executive Director.
The role may be performed on-site in Laramie or remotely from anywhere in Wyoming (technology equipment provided; reliable internet required).
Travel up to 20% is required, with mileage, meals, and lodging covered.
