Executive Director Job Announcement
Wyoming United is a newly formed statewide reproductive rights organization (Pro-Choice Wyoming and Wyoming United for Freedom are merging). It works to protect and expand reproductive healthcare decisions through statewide community engagement, advocacy and education. Wyoming United is a 501(c)(4) organization.
Wyoming United Education Project also believes that every person should be free to make individual decisions about reproductive health without government interference. It works to protect and expand these freedoms through statewide community engagement, advocacy and education. Wyoming United Education Project is a 501(c)(3) organization.
Position Summary: The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operation of Wyoming United and the Wyoming United Education Project. This role involves strategic planning, fundraising/grant writing, community engagement, and advocacy to support reproductive freedom in Wyoming. The Executive Director will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, the Wyoming United and Education Project Boards and their committees to protect reproductive rights in Wyoming.
This is a full-time position with a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, 12 paid holidays; 72 hours of annual PTO; and professional development opportunities. Salary range: $85,000-$95,000.00 annually, DOE.
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE WYOMING UNITED BOARD AND WYOMING UNITED EDUCATION PROJECT BOARD, RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Leadership and Management:
• Provide administrative leadership and strategic direction for Wyoming United and the Education Project.
• Oversee consistent, timely and informative social media posts.
• Maintain and update the Wyoming United website, donor/supporter database, email lists, and social media accounts.
• Ensure submission of timely annual filings to IRS and Wyoming Secretary of State.
Fundraising:
• Use existing networks and identify new opportunities to raise funds for Wyoming United and
the Wyoming United Education Project from new donors and foundations, in coordination with
Wyoming United’s Finance/Fundraising Committee.
• Seek, implement and manage grants and submit any required reporting.
Program Development and Implementation:
• Organize and help to coordinate advocacy initiatives.
• Monitor legislative activity in coordination with Wyoming United’s Legislative Committee and
reproductive rights coalition (including Chelsea’s Fund and Wellspring Access).
• Maintain relationships with other reproductive rights organizations.
• Represent Wyoming United at events, conferences, and meetings.
• Work to expand statewide supporters and county chapters.
• Coordinate tabling events with volunteers to distribute informational materials and resources.
Collaboration and Partnerships:
• Work with Wyoming and national reproductive rights organizations to leverage resources and
support.
Other:
• Serve as central administrator for both non-profit organizations.
• Assist in planning and facilitating all board meetings and committee meetings, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s or other advanced degree preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to reproductive freedom and three or more years of experience in community organizing/advocacy, program management, or a related area.
• Strong understanding of the challenges and issues faced by the reproductive rights community.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in community organizing/advocacy, program management, or a related area. (An equivalency of education and experience will be considered.)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in targeted social media campaigns, e-newsletters, and/or other online networking and outreach efforts.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Google Drive.
