WACTE is a dynamic organization dedicated to advancing career and technical education (CTE) in the state. You would work with and for a diverse range of passionate teachers, school administrators, and business owners.

JOB PROFILE

The WACTE Executive Director reports directly to the WACTE President and ultimately serves at the direction of the WACTE Board of Directors. The Executive Director will work closely with the President on a weekly basis to manage day-to-day operations and ensure organizational alignment with WACTE’s mission and goals. This includes compiling and submitting monthly reports to the full board, outlining activities, progress, and strategic developments.

While the Executive Director may collaborate with a small team of contractors or volunteers, they are ultimately responsible for leading all operational areas of the organization, including but not limited to:

  • Administrative oversight
  • Financial management
  • Event coordination (including the annual Summer Conference)
  • Advocacy and policy support
  • Membership engagement and communications
  • Website and content management

To effectively manage their responsibilities, the Executive Director may choose to outsource specific duties. They may do so by allocating a portion of their own compensation or, if the tasks require additional expertise or exceed current capacity, they may petition the WACTE Board to approve and fund additional contracted support. This ensures the organization continues to operate efficiently and meet its strategic goals.

This is a flexible, primarily remote position. The Executive Director sets their own schedule, with periodic travel across the state to build partnerships, support events, and represent WACTE.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, public administration, business, communications, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in CTE, educational leadership, nonprofit management, or a related area
  • Experience in event planning and website/content management strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with digital platforms such as WordPress (or other CMS), email marketing tools, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
  • Ability to manage financial documents such as QuickBooks
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and report progress to leadership

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base contract of $40,000 with a up to a 10% performance bonus. We will also offer bonuses based on recruitment of new sponsors, corporate members and for retention of corporate members, industry partners and sponsors.
