The Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (WCADVSA) is a
social change, non-profit, non-governmental organization that was founded in 1987 to support
the statewide needs of domestic violence and sexual assault (DVSA) programs, their
communities, and survivors across Wyoming. The work of the WCADVSA is guided and
supported by its staff and DVSA membership. Through a collective voice, we are committed to
providing leadership, education, and system advocacy to advance social change and end
violence.

This specifically includes working towards and being able to provide support, training, technical
assistance, resources, etc., through a social change and anti-oppression framework.


Position Summary
The Membership and Advocacy Coordinator (MAC) plays a critical role in supporting and
advancing the leadership capacity of Directors in rural Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault
(DVSA) programs across Wyoming. Through strategic training, technical assistance (TA), and
mentorship, the MAC supports organizational development, reduces leadership turnover, and
enhances capacity for programs serving both mainstream and traditionally underserved

populations. Additionally, the MAC works with other WCADVSA staff to build sustainable
systems that center on equity and accessibility.


Key Responsibilities
1. Rural DVSA Program Support Coordination
● Organizational Support: Collaborate with WCADVSA staff to leverage OVW and other
TA providers to address the needs of both mainstream and traditionally underserved
populations.
● Onboarding and Peer Mentorship: Sustain and enhance DVSA Director onboarding and
peer mentoring programs, in coordination with the WCADVSA Executive Director.
● Leadership Development: Expand the Rural Director Leadership Program to support
DVSA Directors in developing self-awareness, transformational leadership, succession
planning, and organizational growth.
● Director Transition Support Program: Coordinate administrative and organizational
support for DVSA programs during Director transitions, contracting qualified consultants
as needed.
2. Membership Engagement, Networking, and Training
● Collaborate with WCADVSA staff to facilitate opportunities at membership and regional
meetings for rural DVSA Directors to share expertise, discuss challenges, and access
training.
● Organizational Culture and Accessibility: Offer webinars, in-person sessions, and support
focused on accessible trauma-informed organizational practices.
● Equity-Centered Training: Lead training based on equity and trauma-informed
frameworks, utilizing existing and potential partnerships and TA providers.
● Core Rural Advocacy Training (CRAT): Update, sustain, and coordinate CRAT sessions
and Training of Trainers (ToT) program for rural DVSA programs, providing options for
e-learning, virtual, and in-person participation.
● Financial Support: Manage travel support funds for DVSA Directors to attend meetings
and professional development events.
● Web-Based Training: Collaborate with other WCADVSA staff, and with support from
OVW TA providers, develop and maintain a library of web-based, culturally specific,
trauma-informed training modules on key topics, including health equity, community
advocacy, and accessibility.

3. Strategic Planning and Performance Measurement:
● Strategic Planning: Support the development of strategic plans for both the WCADVSA
as a whole and for specific grant initiatives.
● Performance Measurement: Track and evaluate outcomes to inform continuous
improvement in leadership development, organizational capacity, and training efficacy,
while measuring and reporting on performance to ensure the success and sustainability of
rural DVSA initiatives.
4. Collaboration and Representation
● Conference and Council Participation: Represent WCADVSA and rural DVSA needs on
statewide councils and planning committees, focusing on DVSA, dating violence, and
stalking.


Desired Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in social work, nonprofit management, public administration, or a
related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
● At least 3-5 years of experience in program management, training, technical assistance,
or advocacy, preferably in rural or underserved communities.
● Demonstrate a strong commitment to ending violence and oppression by understanding
the connections between domestic violence, sexual violence, dating violence, stalking,
and the underlying causes rooted in racism and oppression.
● Experience in leadership development, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive
programming.
● Commitment to equity, accessibility, and supporting traditionally underserved
populations.
● Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
● Proficiency in virtual training platforms, including Zoom and e-learning systems.
● Willingness to travel throughout Wyoming, including rural and tribal areas.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience working with rural communities.
● Knowledge of nonprofit management, grant compliance, and community engagement.
● Familiarity with Wyoming’s legal and social service systems related to DVSA.
Working Conditions
● Travel to Wyoming’s rural areas can be expected, with reimbursement for mileage,
lodging, and meals per WCADVSA policy.
● The MAC may occasionally work outside regular business hours to accommodate
community needs and training schedules.

● A computer, printer, telephone, and other equipment to complete position responsibilities
will be provided. Knowledge about equipment set-up and basic troubleshooting is
important.
● This position may be based out of the WCADVSA office in Laramie, WY, or remote
within the State of Wyoming.
