POSITION:  Executive Director, Central Wyoming Senior Services, Inc.

 

CLASSIFICATION:

The Central Wyoming Senior Services, Inc. Executive Director works for a voluntary Board of Directors and is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organization.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to hiring, training and supervision of full-time and part-time staff members and volunteers, proposing and managing an approved annual budget, actively participating in program planning and development of activities for the Senior Center, and implementing the Strategic Plan in conjunction with the Future Planning Committee and the Board of Directors. The Executive Director is also responsible for fundraising and for writing state, federal and private grants along with administering grant reporting for the organization.

  • Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the preparation and administration of an approved Senior Center budget. Ensures maximum utilization of resources and operates with the highest of financial integrity.
  • Plans, organizes, assigns, reviews, evaluates and directs the work of assigned staff.
  • Participates in the selection of personnel and provides training and professional development.
  • Confers with and provides professional assistance to the Board of Directors in order to meet the needs of seniors in the community. Identifies and implements new outreach opportunities in the community to further fundraising opportunities and to grow the membership of the organization.
  • Responsible for fundraising and generating alternate forms of revenue. Prepares annual budget, monthly financial statements and reports that accurately reflects the organization’s financial standing.
  • Evaluates Senior Center services and programs and recommends improvements or new programs.
  • Recruits and provides leadership to volunteers and schedules and plans their work assignments.
  • Coordinates with nutrition staff to provide meals as regulated by health requirements.
  • Develops Center newsletter, fliers, posters, displays, website and Facebook page to promote interest in Senior Center programs.
  • Develops strong relationships with city and state agencies, community partners and donors. Utilizes these relationships to further the goals of the organization.
  • Promotes the overall public image of the organization and serves as the public spokesperson.
  • Prepares periodic statistical reports, grant writing, maintains State and Federal funding towards the promotion of the Senior Center.
  • Maintains current knowledge trends and advancements in senior citizen program planning and implementation.
  • Carries out directives of the Board. Oversees the Strategic Plan, fundraising, and marketing for the organization and monitors progress.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Skilled in:

  • Planning, organizing, assigning, directing, reviewing and evaluating the work of staff – effective employee supervision.
  • Motivating and evaluating staff and providing for their training and professional development.
  • Implementing goals, objectives, policies, procedures, work standards and internal controls.
  • Planning, organizing and implementing multi-faceted senior programs and activities.
  • Identifying community senior citizen needs and recommending alternative or enhanced programs.
  • Exercising sound independent judgment within general policy guidelines.
  • Preparing clear, concise and complete reports, grants, and other written correspondence.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with community sectors.
  • Budget Principles.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Business, Health & Human Services or closely related field.
  • Three years of experience in a supervisory or program management capacity.
  • Must be available for off hour Center emergency or problem response and resolution.

 

SALARY - $50,000- $70,000
