Family Promise of Albany County is a nonprofit 501c3 organization in Laramie, Wyoming that has been in operation since 2016. As Family Promise National-Affiliate, FPAC receives continuous support and funding to continually operate programming. The organization operates three major programs: Rental & Utility Assistance, Temporary Shelter, and a community-wide Diaper & Hygiene Pantry. The organization thrives on support from the community, including individual donors and volunteers, congregations,  business, foundations, the city, and the county.

 

Goal of the Position

To manage day to day operations of the Day Center; intake screening, comprehensive case management, assessment/referral, housing assistance and group work, program development and implementation.

 

Major Responsibilities

  1. Comprehensive case management: outreach, intakes, assessment individual case plans, referrals, housing assistance location, advocacy. 75%
  2. Provide shared telephone coverage for the clients. Visits shelter families on a weekly basis. Meets with shelter Director for weekly supervision and client case review. 5%
  3. Attends all relevant meetings to position, i.e. monthly staff meetings, social service meetings and other meetings on an as needed basis. 5%
  4. Works with clubs, schools and congregations that provide donations, furniture and holiday gifts/parties for clients. 5%
  5. Keeps accurate and up to date case files, collects all needed data for reporting. 10%

 

Reporting Relationship

  • The Case Manager is directly accountable to the Executive Director.
  • The Case Manager will act as a supervisor for seasonal interns, both will report to ED.

 

Qualifications

A minimum of bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience working with clients. One year of experience working with the homeless population is preferred. Knowledge of local government and social service programs desired. Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to make clients comfortable and trusting are critical. Ability to be a good team player. The ability to balance client time, phone time, and paperwork time is essential. Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks is necessary.
