The Creative Development Manager is responsible for shaping the artistic landscape of our organization through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach. The Creative Development Manager will answer to and assist the Executive Director with the following duties and any other duties as assigned.  

GALLERY AND CURATION

  • Staff the front desk, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

  • Greet guests and foster a welcoming environment for artists and visitors.

  • Provide information to visitors about Art321.

  • Learn information about artists, fostering a personal connection with them.

  • Create labels for shows, enhancing the visual impact of gallery exhibitions.

  • Follow check-in procedures for art, ensuring efficient handling of entries.

  • Keep show submissions organized from start to finish, including pick-up and return.

  • Ensure that galleries and art storage areas are clean and safe for artists and visitors.

  • Schedule dates and curate exhibits.

  • Responsible for monthly artist commissions.

GIFT SHOP

  • Actively recruit new artists and members to the gift shop.

  • Follow check-in procedures ensuring efficient handling of gift shop inventory.

  • Photograph, enter,  price, and label gift shop items.

  • Ensure proper inventory of art is maintained, monitored, and audited.

  • Assist in integrating gift shop inventory to an online ordering system.

  • Keep artist inventory, bios, and price sheets updated.

  • Merchandise and arrange the gift shop to keep it fresh and enticing for visitors.

  • Assist the Executive Director in creating and maintaining a system to rotate gift shop inventory. 

EVENTS AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT 

  • Work monthly receptions and events, assisting artists and visitors.

  • Create and maintain a system for events, setting deadlines and coordinating logistics.

  • Assist in content creation for monthly newsletters.

  • Assist in creating a marketing plan for 321 that will spread brand awareness.

  • Assist in organizing and scheduling the annual members' meeting.

  • Assist in committee and volunteer coordination.

MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATION

  • Ensure policies and procedures are respected and followed. 

  • Set and maintain high standards for staff performance.

  • Ensure that the building and grounds of the organization are maintained in a manner that preserves the asset and historical values, and provides a welcoming and attractive environment for staff and visitors alike.

    FINANCIAL, FUNDRAISING & DEVELOPMENT

  • Assist with the organization’s fundraising efforts.

  • Work to increase the visibility of the organization in the community.

  • Attract and retain members and donors, engaging them in the mission of Art321.

  • Assist the Executive Director, Board, and Fundraising Committee with grant writing

  • Assist in the cultivation and stewardship of donors, members, and funders

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE: 

  • Exceptional oral and written skills.

  • Good People skills.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Experience with Google Suite and Google Drive.

PREFERENCE GIVEN FOR:

  • Experience in nonprofit leadership and management.

  • A degree in an arts-related field, or years of experience in an arts-related field.

  • Experience in an arts or cultural organization.

  • An understanding and passion for the arts.

  • An understanding of the role of arts organizations in Community Development.

  • Experience with social media and digital marketing.

  • Experience in business with an understanding of profit and loss.

  • Experience with grant writing.

  • Sales and merchandising experience.
